Overview

The Transport module digitizes school logistics — from defining routes and managing drivers to providing parents with real-time GPS tracking of their child's bus via the Parent App.

Route Management

Route Configuration

1. Create Route — Name the route and define the direction (To School / From School / Both)
2. Add Stops — Pin each stop on the map with GPS coordinates and an estimated time offset
3. Assign Vehicle — Link a vehicle with valid documentation to the route
4. Assign Driver — Assign a licensed driver to the vehicle
5. Assign Students — Enroll students to specific stops on the route

GPS & Live Tracking

How It Works

1. The driver opens the Staff App and starts the trip
2. GPS coordinates are transmitted every 15 seconds to the Ardent real-time service
3. Parents see their child's bus as a live-moving pin on the map in the Parent App
4. Estimated arrival times update dynamically based on real-time position

Geofencing

• School Zone: Automatic trip completion when the bus enters the school perimeter
• Stop Proximity: Parents receive a push notification when the bus is 2 minutes from their child's stop
• Route Deviation: Alert triggered if the bus deviates significantly from the planned route

Emergency SOS

Drivers can trigger an SOS alert from the Staff App, which:

• Sends the current GPS location to the school admin immediately
• Notifies all parents of students on that specific bus
• Logs the incident for follow-up
